Blast off into an interstellar adventure as you race across the solar system, coding your way through cosmic challenges! With your trusty Sphero RVR+s and Sphero BOLTs as robotic teammates, the young engineers will combine robotics, rocketry, and creativity to complete a launch mission: launch your custom-designed rocket before time runs out. In “RoboRacers 2.0” your robots will zip across alien terrain and dodge space-themed obstacles—asteroid fields, swirling black holes, and slippery lunar dust—using coding skills to navigate, collect mission data, and activate launch sequences. Each team’s rocket, crafted by hand, from lightweight materials and aerodynamic designs, must survive rigorous tests before countdown begins. Will your code execute flawlessly? Can your robot deliver the final fuel cell in time? It’s a thrilling race through the stars where innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving determine who will reach the launch pad and soar to victory! The2.0 version promotes curiosity, strategy, and tactics. All students are welcome– no experience necessary. Taught by Mountain View’s STEM Specialist, Dr. Z!
